Waters and rivers are often driving my works. While living in South-East London (2012-2017) I started to engage with the river Thames, through walks, and sometimes through photographic or filmic observations. The film series River Embodiments is a group of experimental works produced between 2012 and 2016. It approaches the notion of embodiment through the body mapping of river footage. The HD slow motion footage, was re-filmed on VHS and projected on the skin and back part of a moving body. Performer Margriet Kim Nguyen, used her back muscles, bones and skin to interpret the water oscillations at the surface of the Thames, as to give the superimposition the depth of an embodied process. Installed as a dual projection, two-screens at Silver Road Studios.
